There are no two irises exactly alike, with each iris having it's own individual characteristics, like a fingerprint.  This is why some security companies have developed personal identification scanning equipment using the eye.

Iridology is term used to describe the study of health via an examination of the colour and structure of the iris, the sclera and the pupil.

The iris is the most complex external structure of the human anatomy.  It has a reflex connection to every organ and tissue of the body by way of the nervous system.

Through the optic nerves (which are attached to the eyes) visual information is sent to the brain.  At the same time there is information sent back to the brain, optic nerves (and therefore the eyes) about the state of the organs and tissues in your body.  The eyes, therefore, are like a window into the body.

Iridologists assess colour and fibre structure variations in the iris, in order to assess the constitutional strength of the physical body, in order to determine potential health problems at the earliest stage.  This enables the iridologist to work closely with their clientele, to optimise health and wellness, and to decrease the likelihood of disease.

Iridology is not new and the first recorded sources of iris anlysis reach back as far as ancient Babylon.  In the 20th century, doctors and scientists from the United States, Europe and Australia have brought Iridology into worldwide prominance, and iridology has been researched widely in areas such as: the constitution, pigmentation and scleral signs.

Iridology has been used by many orthodox doctors in Germany, Russia, Italy, Greece and other countries as a reliable form of diagnosis for many years.

Some naturopaths have undertaken a short course of study in iridology as part of their training, whilst others have studied it at a far greater level.

Pauline has studied iridology in Sydney over the course of a 12 month period as a post graduate study program, and achieved a Post-Graduate Diploma of Iridology at the completion of her studies.

Pauline utilizes Iridology as an assessment tool, and Comprehensive Iridology can be booked in conjunction with a Naturopathy consultation.
